Upstate Music Therapy Center LLC is proud to have hired highly qualified Music Therapists over our 20 years and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist over the last 7 years in the Rochester area. Our therapists are all Board Certified (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists, a requirement at the time of hire or within 6 months of joining our team. We are also looking to increase our staffing of Licensed Creative Arts Therapists (LCAT).

Qualifications to apply at Upstate Music Therapy Center

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy
• Board Certified Music Therapist/Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
• Successful completion of an approved internship
• Experience working with children and young adults with developmental disabilities for at least one year as a Music Therapist.
• Experience working in mental health for at least one year as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.

What should I bring to an interview?

• • Instrumental and vocal audition (3 songs – pre-school, elementary, high school)
  • Portfolio (if major in art therapy)

  • Discussion of past presentations or special projects
  • Examples of visual supports used in sessions
