Upstate Music Therapy Center LLC is proud to have hired highly qualified Music Therapists over our 20 years and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist over the last 7 years in the Rochester area. Our therapists are all Board Certified (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists, a requirement at the time of hire or within 6 months of joining our team. We are also looking to increase our staffing of Licensed Creative Arts Therapists (LCAT). Click here to meet our staff.

Qualifications to apply at Upstate Music Therapy Center

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy
• Board Certified Music Therapist/Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
• Successful completion of an approved internship
• Experience working with children and young adults with developmental disabilities for at least one year
• Experience working in mental health for at least one year as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.

What should I bring to an interview?

• Instrumental and vocal audition (3 songs – pre-school, elementary, high school)
• Portfolio if major in art therapy
• Examples of past clinical documentation
• Discussion of past presentations or special projects
• Examples of visual supports used in sessions
